The realization of extremely high-quality electrical filter by high temperature superconductor technology and its application in mobile communication system
Superconductivity was discovered in 1911 but its application in practical electrical engineering has been hindered by the very low temperatures required. The invention of high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials in 1986 changed this situation. In this article, the author points out that extremely high-quality electrical filters based on high temperature superconductor technology have been successfully demonstrated. In fact, such filters have been applied in mobile communication base stations, resulting in higher quality mobile communication. Therefore, the discovery of superconductivity more than 100 years ago can really have a significant impact on the daily life of human beings.
