A young American man with the name of Harold Stephen Black (1898-1983) took a ferry from New Jersey to New York City. He was born in the same year as Zhou En Lai. However, he was not a revolutionist. In fact, he was an electrical engineer working for the Bell Telephone Laboratories. At that time, the Bell Telephone Laboratories were located at 463 West Street, New York City. Black lived in New Jersey and he had to take a ferry every morning to cross the Hudson River in order to go to the Bell Telephone Laboratories.
